How accurate is the AI detection?

Our AI model is highly accurate, detecting most common sensitive information types with high precision. However, we recommend reviewing the detected entities to ensure all sensitive information is properly redacted according to your needs.

Is my data stored anywhere?

No, your data is not stored. Your text is processed for redaction and immediately discarded afterward. We have a strict zero data retention policy - no logs, no copies, no storage.

Will my data be used for AI training?

Absolutely not. Text Redact uses enterprise AI with strict no-training policies. Your text is processed securely and immediately discarded after redaction - it is never used to train AI models.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Text Redact ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of these Terms and any updates.

2. Description of Service

Text Redact is an AI-powered text redaction service that identifies and masks personally identifiable information (PII) and sensitive data in user-provided text. The Service is provided on a credit-based system with both free and paid options.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.

4. User Accounts

You may use the Service anonymously with limited daily credits, or create an account for enhanced features
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
You agree to provide accurate information and keep it updated
You are responsible for all activities under your account
Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account

5. Credit System

5.1 Free Credits

Anonymous users receive up to 5 free credits per day
Registered users receive 10 free credits per day
Daily credits reset at midnight (UTC)
Unused daily credits do not carry over

5.2 Purchased Credits

Purchased credits never expire
Credits are non-transferable between accounts
Daily free credits are consumed first before purchased credits
Prices are displayed inclusive of applicable taxes

5.3 Credit Usage

Each successful text redaction consumes one (1) credit. Failed redactions due to service errors do not consume credits.

6. Payments and Refunds

6.1 Payments

Payments are processed securely by Paddle, our authorised payment processor
All prices are in the currency displayed at checkout
You agree to pay all charges at the prices then in effect
Credits are added to your account immediately upon successful payment

6.2 Refund Policy

Digital Goods - Limited Refunds

As credits are digital goods that can be used immediately upon purchase, we generally do not offer refunds. However, we may consider refund requests in the following circumstances:

Technical issues preventing credit use (with evidence)
Duplicate or erroneous charges
Service unavailability exceeding 24 hours

6.3 Consumer Rights (UK/EU)

Under UK and EU consumer law, you have a 14-day cooling-off period for digital purchases. However, by using credits immediately after purchase, you acknowledge that you are waiving this right as the service has been fully performed.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

Use the Service for any illegal purpose or to violate any laws
Attempt to circumvent the credit system or abuse free credits
Use automated scripts, bots, or scrapers to access the Service
Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service
Use the Service to process classified, highly sensitive government data, or data you are not authorised to handle
Resell or commercially exploit the Service without authorisation
Violate the intellectual property rights of others

8. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, features, and content, is owned by Text Redact and protected by intellectual property laws
You retain all rights to the text you submit for processing
We claim no ownership over your input or output text
You grant us a limited licence to process your text solely for providing the Service

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT:

The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
All PII will be detected and redacted with 100% accuracy
The Service will meet your specific requirements

You are responsible for reviewing redacted output before sharing. AI-based redaction may not catch all sensitive information.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, TEXT REDACT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR USE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability for any claims arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Text Redact, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, violation of these Terms, or infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time
You may delete your account through account settings or by contacting us
We may suspend or terminate your access for violation of these Terms
Upon termination, purchased credits are forfeited unless otherwise required by law
Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or via email. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

14. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of England and Wales, unless you are a consumer residing in the EU, in which case you may bring proceedings in your country of residence.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
